Samsung Galaxy S sees Android 2.3.4 leaked build
Android 2.3.4 has been leaked for the Samsung Galaxy S (that would be the i9000 international version), and the folks at SAMFirmware have made it publicly available. Early reports are saying that it does address some of the bugs found in the 2.3.3 version, but the all important video chat via Google Talk is not included in this build. We’re not going to read too much into that, this is a leak and nothing official after all. The real question is how long will this take to move from leaked status, to something that can be deployed across all carriers, for all Galaxy S variants. We don’t have that answer — I don’t think anyone does. Hopefully it’s sooner rather than later. Continue reading

Official Android 2.3 Gingerbread ROM leaks out for Samsung Galaxy S
The race is on to see which device will be the first to get an official upgrade to Android 2.3 Gingerbread , and a new ROM has leaked out for the Euro version of the Samsung Galaxy S (that’s the I9000 for you folks playing at home). It’s not actually being pushed out just yet, but reportedly it’s what you’ll get if your phone gets sent in for warranty work. And, no, this isn’t what those of us in the states are waiting on — you’ll need the the official upgrade from your respective carrier — or the Froyo update, first, if you’re still waiting on that. Continue reading

Leaked Three information shows off Samsung Galaxy S 2 Mini along with release dates for the HTC Flyer
The folks over at Engadget were slipped a little tip that happened to showcase the entire upcoming lineup for UKcarrier Three. Included in this was information about a 3.7 inch Samsung Galaxy S2 Mini, and we are puzzled as to where the mini part is, as the screen is still larger than that of the iPhone . This device, not to be confused with the previous Samsung Galaxy Mini , will be introduced as a high end handset, and is set to launch with Gingerbread Continue reading

Official Gingerbread ROM for the Galaxy S now unofficially available
Forget about the Samsung Galaxy S Froyo update! How would you feel about a fresh serving of Gingerbread? We’ve heard for a while that Samsung’s Android team has been hard at work on their Gingerbread update for the Galaxy S line, but if you’re not in the mood to wait around for a long, long, long time (I can’t remember, is that how long we waited for the Froyo update?) for Samsung to roll out the update you can grab it yourself over on XDA-Developers Continue reading
