Show your love for Android with this ridiculous hoodie
New in the Google Store (not the Google Play Store, that’s the Galaxy Nexus ) is this $50 hoodie that will let folks know from a mile away how much you really dig Android. It’s green and fuzzy, but the giveaway is a set of antenna and eyeballs atop the hood, placing your head somewhere in the gaping mouth of the mobile operating system’s mascot. We never said it would make you look cool Continue reading

Mobile graphics to surpass current gaming consoles by 2014
Mobile gaming has gone a long way since the smartphone boom. With processors like NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 SoC and its 12-core GPU, devices are getting closer to achieving console quality gaming. We are definitely not quite there yet, but NVIDIA is estimating that mobile graphics and processing power will reach (and surpass) the performance of gaming consoles like the PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360. Continue reading

Yes, mobile graphics are catching up with consoles (which also will improve)
A couple of things to remember when you're looking at this slide of projected mobile graphics performance, which NVIDIA showed us Thursday at HTC's Frequencies meetings in Seattle and has been making the rounds. The slide was being used to illustrate just how far mobile graphics (OK, Tegra) has come in a relatively short amount of time. And, yes, ZMOG! Tegra will be as powerful as the Xbox 360 in 2013 or whenever! That's a great line Continue reading

NVIDIA Tegra to reach Xbox 360-Like speeds by 2014
While many vendors have promised console-quality graphics for the future, none of them have yet to actually hit that milestone. (Unless, of course, you are thinking about the PS1 or PS2.) A new graph shows how Tegra might eventually be powerful enough to produce graphics better than the Xbox 360 by 2014′s end. Sure, the Xbox 360 did come out in 2005 but even some of its launch titles look a lot better than what you normally see on the Google Play Store today. Continue reading
