Google Friendly Reminder: The Menu Button Does Not Provide For An Ideal User Experience

The Android Developers blog was updated today with a friendly post reminding developers that in Google’s vision for Android’s future — there will be no menu buttons. Google Maps Get a Quick Bug Fixing Update

Google has issued a minor update to Google Maps. You’re looking for version 6.1.1 and the changelog only mentions “fixes for bugs on tablets and phones.” One user who has noticed a “phone” issue (calling a place from within Google maps) says it has since been fixed: It would not transfer the phone number when you clicked on the phone button of a search result or on the actual number in the search result page. While I haven’t noticed that bug or many in general, it’s good to know that Google’s making sure everything is squeaky clean between major updates. Continue reading
