Huawei MediaPad to ship with Ice Cream Sandwich, and introduces a new MediaPad Color series

Huawei has announced that their 7-inch MediaPad will be one of the first Android tablets to ship with Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed, and the availability of the new MediaPad Color series in shadow black, classic brown, and passion pink.  The 7-inch MediaPad was the first tablet to ship with Honeycomb 3.2 , so Huawei is no stranger to getting things updated in a timely fashion.  Both the MediaPad and MediaPad Color come with a Qualcomm dual-core 1.2GHz processor and a 1280 x 800 pixels 217 PPI screen supporting 1080P Full HD video playback.  Battery life is estimated at six hours or longer. Expect the MediaPad with Ice Cream Sandwich, and the MediaPad Color (with Android 3.2) to arrive in select markets in the first quarter of this year, and existing MediaPad owners should also get an OTA update to Android 4.0 in Q1.  The full press release is after the break. RadioShack Selling the T-Mobile G2 October 3rd for $149.99?

Some of you who pre-ordered your T-Mobile G2 from T-Mobile themselves will be receiving them before the weekend kicks off . For everyone else, you’re either going to have to wait until October 6th or bank on this internal screenshot from Radio Shack sent from an anonymous tipster that says they’ll be offering it October 3rd (which is a Sunday) for $149.99 if you’re a new customer or $199.99 if you’re upgrading. We’re not sure how they got the green light to sell this phone that early (especially ahead of Best Buy), but considering that truckloads of the G2 are leaving warehouses and headed to stores already , we can’t imagine they won’t be ready to deliver three days ahead of schedule. The Samsung Tab gets a price, pre-orders, and launch date

With all the news on the Samsung Tab today, most of you are probably wondering how much you’ll need to save up or order to get your hands on one.  Samsung was a bit hesitant to announce a retail price since they are going to be focusing their launch of the Tab with service providers across Europe, but that has not stopped third party retailers from posting up their own prices for the Android powered tablet.  Currently, prices across mainland Europe are ranging from €699 ($890) to €799 ($1,020) and UK retaler Expansys is taking pre-orders for the Samsung Tab for £680 ($1,050), noting that the Tab will be available on October 11th. The price may appear pretty steep, but it is in line with what the 3G equipped iPad is going for across Europe.  We’d also like to remind you that the prices being listed include VAT (value added tax) which is right around the 19-20% mark.  While most Android fans seem more willing to pay a premium price for the best Android tablet, we’re pretty sure they will all scoff if the price tag is higher than what Apple is charging for the iPad.  Those who are really interested in getting the Samsung Tab will most likely opt in on carrier discounts when the tablet is purchased with a qualifying monthly data plan, but we’re still hoping that Samsung will be launching a Wi-Fi only version of the Tab for those who simply can’t afford another monthly bill.  If these prices for the Galaxy Tab turn out to be real, we’d expect potential customers will simply settle for a competing Android tablet which may not all the features and polish that the Tab has to offer.  How many of you would be willing to shell out nearly $1,000 for the Samsung Tab?
