From the Android Forums: Using a UK HTC Sensation in New York

SteveDisco asks in the Android Central Forums , I would like to know if it is possible to access 3G on my UK HTC Sensation when I go to New York next month on a U.S. SIM card? My limited understanding is that the frequencies used for U.S. phones are different to those in the UK but am unclear if the Sensation will still be able to access. If it is not possible could I just use a US SIM for voice calls and rely on WiFi access? HTC Sensation, Sensation XE and Vivid Get ICS Kernel Source Published

Developers, rejoice! HTC has released the Ice Cream Sandwich kernel source for a few of their phones. The HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation XE , and the HTC Vivid are all getting treatment today. Europe to receive white HTC Sensation with Ice Cream Sandwich March 1st

A new version of the HTC Sensation is on tap for a European release, and it may be one of the first handsets from the manufacturer to feature Ice Cream Sandwich. A press release out of HTC’s Dutch branch is announcing a new white version of the Sensation for sale on March 1st throughout Europe with a key new feature being the inclusion of Android 4.0 out of the box. Bug gives access to WiFi passwords on certain HTC handsets

HTC has had its fair share of security problems over the past few months, and the manufacturer is coming clean about yet another potential data leak . Certain HTC phones contain a bug that allows third-party apps with android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE enabled can gain easy access to a users WiFi network info, including password. The exploit was discovered back in September, but the folks who discovered it haven’t gone public with their info until today. HTC is brushing the issue, which affects handsets from the Desire HD and Droid Incredible to the Sensation and EVO 3D, off as a minor one.
